Loughman Oaks Elementary Food Pantry supported by Kiwanis of Davenport Four Corners
Our Kiwanis chapter raises money and purchases food to supply the food pantry that supports children with food insecurity and their families at Loughman Oaks Elementary. The school provides a weekly backpack program that assists over 75 children and their families facing food insecurity in our area.
Weekend Food Backpack Program
Children in need are given backpacks full of ready to eat or easily prepared meals for the weekend to help with food insecurity issues. The backpacks contain enough food for both the child and their families. This program supports over 75 children in the area.
Holiday Party for Loughman Oaks Elementary
We had an amazing Holiday party at Loughman Oaks for the children in December of 2022. The children were able to pick a gift, either an animal stuffy, coloring books and crayons, or a few Hot Wheels cars. There were games and crafts provided by members of our Ridge Community High School Key Club. Our wonderfully talented member, Suzy Hosmer, entertained the children and their families by singing seasonal holiday favorites. We had an outer worldly visit by a Star Wars Jedi Knight and Shadow Trooper who posed for pictures. Our members cooked and prepared all of the food served for the evening.
